According to a recent press release sent to VG News Wire, Nintendo and Mojang are collaborating on bringing the popular level creator video game, Minecraft, to the Nintendo Wii U.
Minecraft: Wii U Edition is scheduled to hit the Nintendo eShop on December 17 and will be sold digitally for $29.99. This digital download is set to include four content packages. A list of the included content can be found below:
- Battle & Beasts Skin Pack
- Battle & Beasts Skin Pack 2
- Natural Texture Pack
- City Texture Pack
- Fantasy Texture Pack
- Festive Mash-up Pack
At this time is it currently unknown if Minecraft: Wii U Edition will see a retail release, but given the title’s past via competitive consoles, it could be a possibility.
The Minecraft franchise was sold to Microsoft in 2014, and has sold more than 70 million units across all platforms since its initial release in 2011.
