Video game developer and publisher, Bethesda, has opened a brand new game studio in Montreal in hopes of expanding development in “console, PC, and mobile gaming.”

“We’ve worked with some very talented developers in Montreal for a long time, and decided it was time to open a studio there,” said Game Director and Executive Producer at Bethesda Game Studios, Todd Howard.

The new development studio will be managed by Yves Lachance, who has this to say about the newly formed studio, “We are thrilled the be launching the studio in Montreal and contributing our city’s great game-making talent to the kind of games that Bethesda Game Studios is known for.”

Prior to be designated the role of Studio Director, Lachance previously participated in the development of Fallout Shelter, Bethesda’s latest mobile companion title for Fallout 4, and the last-gen version of Wolfenstein: The New Order, both of which were developed by Behaviour Interactive.

The latest title in the Fallout series, Fallout 4, launched on November 10 and has sold more than 12 million copies across all platforms (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC).
