Certainly entertaining, but it takes a little practice to get used to

When I originally seen the trailer to Yo-Kai Watch during Nintendo’s E3 2015 Digital Event, I shouted in excitement and displayed an ear-to-ear grin. Now that the video game possesses a demo, which is located via the Nintendo eShop, i’m still very excited for the titles Nov. 6 release.

Like most Level-5 video games, the art design consists of a more anime-like aesthetic, which certainly works in the game’s favor.

I’ve noticed that the controls in Yo-Kai Watch feel very similar to the controls in Pokemon X & Y. But unlike Pokemon, which sticks to traditional turn-based action, Yo-Kai Watch innovates on the mechanic and includes a character select wheel that allows the individual to control up-to three Yo-Kai at once. Though innovative on a classic idea, the character wheel is initially daunting and a tad cumbersome. On the bright side, however, operating the character select wheel and operating three Yo-Kai at once, eventually becomes an easy task to accomplish through practice and persistence.

Yo-Kai Watch releases on Nov. 6 as a Nintendo 3DS exclusive and is set to retail a Nintendo 2DS bundle for $99 on launch day.

So, what are your thoughts on Yo-Kai Watch? Have you thought about trying the demo or purchasing the game when it releases? If so, what do you think of the video game? Be sure to let us know in the comment section below.
