While no details about the launch date or pricing are available, updated PlayStation VR hardware is headed our way, according to a PlayStation Blog post. The new model enables the headphone cables to be integrated into the headset, and a connection cable with a smaller form factor. The Processor Unit will support HDR pass through, allowing owners to not have to constantly disconnect the VR headset in order to play their games in 4K HDR.

Those with the original PS VR will not be able to simply upgrade their Processor Units, however, as the cable connections will differ on the headsets. You’ll have to upgrade your entire PS VR setup to take advantage of the new feature. Notably, nothing is mentioned about improvements to the picture quality of the headset.

When more updates are made available, we’ll have them here at VG Newswire.
