Nintendo has announced that the production of the Wii U will soon be coming to an end.

Via their Japanese site the there was a message that said “近日生産終了予定” or “production is coming to an end soon(via Google translate).”

Nintendo released the following statement: ”

“We can confirm that as of today, all Wii U hardware that will be made available in the North American market for this fiscal year has already been shipped to our retail partners. We encourage anyone who wants Wii U to communicate with their preferred retail outlet to monitor availability(Via Kotaku).”

The Nintendo Wii U was released in November of 2012 and has sold 13.36 million units.
