Two new updates, which are to be free to download, are coming to Splatoon 2.
According to Nintendo, the first update, which becomes available on November 23, will add one new Salmon Run stage called, Salmonid Smokeyard, four new hairstyles, roughly 140 pieces of new gear, and new battle music.
Player level caps have also been said to increase with the new update to level 99, with the option to prestige your character as well. New amiibo functionality is also on the way, which allows players to snap images in preset battle stage locations and Inkopolis Square, with the chance to share them and use image filters as well.
Gear swapping will be added in regular battle, ranked battle and Splatfest battle per the new update, which will not require the player to leave the room in order to equip new gear. Regular battle players will also have the option to continue playing with current teammates rather than searching for an entirely new team.
MakoMart, which is a new battle stage coming to Splatoon 2, will arrive on November 24, with Shellendorf Institute, Walleye Warehouse, and Arowana Mall set to release sometime in the near future.
Another update which is scheduled to hit Splatoon 2 is set to arrive sometime in mid-December, and will introduce a new ranked battle mode called, “Clam Blitz.” This new mode has players collecting clams that are spread throughout the stage and the objective is to throw them into the opponent’s basket.
