Ahead of E3, Sony has confirmed the long-running rumored existence of a PlayStation 4 Neo (or PS4k), which will launch at $350. No release timetable was announced.

Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Andrew House stated that both consoles will continue to be “sold through the life cycle.” The new console will feature 4K resolution, though it is not yet confirmed if that includes games or if it is only for video playback. PS4 games will work on both consoles. He continued, “The consumer is attuned to a different cadence of innovation in technology thanks in great part for the upgrades cadence on mobile phones or PCs. We want to ensure we have a full range of the best experiences on the new system that we can showcase in their entirety.” Maybe teasing the possibility of even more hardware upgrades moving forward?
