Video game publisher and developer, Nintendo, has announced that the recently released Pokemon Sun and Moon demo for the Nintendo 3DS handheld has apparently broken a digital record, making this the first-ever in Nintendo history.

According to a recent investors report, the Pokemon Sun and Moon demo, which is still currently available for download via the Nintendo 3DS eShop, reached over 3.5 million downloads within the first week of launch.

Yesterday, Nintendo issued a press release which mentioned that “Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon are officially the best pre-selling games in Nintendo history”, which would mean these titles would need to be preordered/preloaded.

We recently reached out to Nintendo in effort to receive specific numbers regarding the presold copies of Pokemon Sun and Pokemon moon but have yet to hear back.

Pokemon Sun and Moon is scheduled to hit the Nintendo 3DS on November 18.
