CivilizationEDU, a modified version of Civilization V, is being made available to schools through GlassLab Inc.

This educational spin will offer stat tracking and measure students’ abilities to solve problems. Teachers get access to an online back end that allows them to easily keep up on student progress. Also included, lesson plans that incorporate the game.

Where was this when I was a student? For you lucky students next year, remember these tips: Find as many ruins as you reasonably can (you want the early population bump), founding a religion early lets you choose better bonuses, and don’t neglect your military just because nobody is currently attacking you.

Civilization V launched way back in 2010, selling more than 8 million copies.
