Only shooters earned our nominations for Best Multiplayer (Competitive). Gears of War 4, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Overwatch, and Titanfall 2 all came up short to our winner, Battlefield 1. The classic modes of Rush and 64 player Conquest are back with a World War I setting, bringing all the frantic action you expect. New modes like War Pigeons and Operations expanded our multiplayer choices. Operations is a mix of Conquest and Rush, with attacking forces advancing and having to hold multiple points at the same time. Each match takes place over multiple maps, and the sense of scale present is unmatched in other games.

Battlefield 1 also took our award for Best Music, besting Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Final Fantasy XV.
